Job Description

Our client, an international reinsurance company is looking for a Life Valuation Actuary. He/she will facilitate the consolidation of the quarterly technical provisions for the Life business.

 

The Life Valuation Actuary will be responsible for:

 

  • Assisting with the production of the quarterly/annual technical provisions and QRTs,
  • Assisting in the production of the Chief Life Reserving reports with interactions with the international teams (Europe and Asia),
  • Contributing to the monitoring of changes in rules and guidance or market practice relating to the calculation of the technical provisions and QRTs,
  • Contributing to the continued improvement of the Solvency II closing process,
  • Monitoring of the controls process relating to the Solvency II filings and liaise with internal / external Auditors to provide data,
  • Specification of required reserving assumptions and model changes to ensure consistency and compliance,
  • Propose and review Best Estimate Assumption updates,
  • Review the calculation of Best Estimate Reserves for SII and MCEV and the calculation of Statutory Reserves for USGAAP and IFRS 17,
  • Supporting the involved team during the new tool modernization and centralized database building phases,
  • Supporting IFRS 17 and US GAAP implementation for Consolidation Team,
  • Mentoring, guiding and spreading both technical and operational knowledges with other team members in the use and development of models and tools and in the methodological impacts of IFRS17 and US GAAP,
  • Reviewing existing process and improve operational efficiency of the regulatory reporting,
  • Mentor and guide other team members in the use and development of models and tools.

Profile

  • Qualified Actuary,
  • From 5 to 7 years of experience as an actuary in Life (re)insurance working on reserving, valuation or pricing,
  • Strong IT and data management skills,
  • Knowledge of MoSes/Risk Agility FM, AXIS, R and Business Objects reporting would be an advantage,
  • Reinsurance knowledge is an asset,
  • Organized, able to work in a matrix structure,
  • Able to set and manage priorities,
  • High motivation, team spirit,
  • Able to fit into dynamic structure (Multi GAAP environment involving new standards, tools and models modernization project),
  • Keen to work with other cultures,
  • Excellent communication skills,
  • Fluent in English.
