Job Description

Our client, an insurance company, is looking for a Life Product Manager to strengthen its Product & Market Development Department.

Purpose of the function

Development (both commercial and technical aspects) and management of insurance products suitable for the direct or affinity market with the aim of increasing market share and optimising profits by responding proactively, quickly, and adequately to the customer's insurance needs, always taking into account a good price/quality ratio and with a view to excellent service.

Main result areas:

  1. The development of new products for simple risks of private individuals and adaptation of existing products. The core tasks will be:
  • Market analysis locally and abroad, in the insurance sector and more broadly.
  • General terms and conditions.
  • Special conditions.
  • Sales arguments and recommendations.
  • Product procedures.
  • Commercial presentation.
  • Briefing and implementation.     

In cooperation with others, develop and adapt products through:

  • Profitability analysis.
  • Acceptance.
  • Pricing.
  • Legal aspects.
  • Reinsurance.
  • Product design.

 

  1. Portfolio and profitability monitoring. The core tasks will be:
  • Monitoring new sales and conversion figures.
  • Follow-up of decline.
  • Monitoring profitability in collaboration with assigned actuary.
  • Based on data driven analysis look at how new sales, conversion and profitability can improve.

 

  1. Market analyses, follow-up of market developments (supply) and needs analyses (demand). The core tasks will be:
  • Continuous monitoring and analysis of the market, at home and abroad, in the insurance sector and more broadly.
  • Development and management of central database.
  • Product comparison.
  • Characteristics of products, strengths and weaknesses.
  • Legislative follow-up (in cooperation with Belins).
  • Update of general terms and conditions.
  • Capture of customer needs via feedback from other departments.
  • Analysis of offers and prospect conversions.

 

  1. Business development. The core tasks:
  • Search for targeted partnerships and sales channels that can support the growth of the company and make the proposition unique.
  • Contact potential partners and conduct negotiations.

  1. Define and roll out, in consultation with marketing & communications, acquisition/upsell and cross-sell campaigns to support the commercial objective. The core tasks will be:
  • Identify campaign opportunities and discuss them with management & other teams, to check if they are in line with the overall company strategy.
  • Calculate the potential reach of the campaign.
  • In consultation with marketing and IT, establish the ideal UX flow and request support for its further implementation.
  • Determine the message of the communication together with marketing, so that the copywriters can get to work.
  • Establishing and following deadlines, all parties are 'chased' in delivery.
  • Testing the delivered materials before they are used externally (links, mailings, etc.)
  • Follow-up and reporting.

 

  1. Others
  • Internal communication regarding products and rates - SPOC of product.
  • Communication with official bodies and consumer organisations.
  • Participation in various projects.
  • Production of manuals and presentations.
  • Development and adjustment of procedures for products.

Profile

  • University degree or equivalent.
  • Ideally an actuarial background or experience in insurance technology.
  • Knowledge of the insurance market (supply and demand).
  • Knowledge of product management.
  • Knowledge of digital products.
  • Good knowledge of MS-Office products.
  • Customer-oriented.
