Job Description

Our client, an insurance company is looking for a Risk Modelling & Analytics Manager to strengthen the Risk Department. He·she will be in charge of  identifying, assessing and controlling risks, formulating innovative risk management proposals and convincing the various parties involved.

The Risk Modelling & Analytics Manager will be responsible for:

 

  • Developing and maintaining the company’s actuarial and risk management models;
  • Coordinating stress test studies both internally and the ones requested by the regulator;
  • Monitoring and analysing key indicators of risk management such as Solvency II ratio, duration gap, liquidity ratio, Earnings At Risk, etc.;
  • Reviewing asset allocation strategy to cover insurance products and in line with the risk appetite limits of the company;
  • Coordinating the production and submission of strategic issues such as the ORSA reporting and related quantitative exercises (Stress testing the financial plan, assessing the company's most important risks, etc.);
  • Monitoring and providing methodological support to finance teams in the context of the new IFRS 17 regulation;
  • Participating in various committees to provide an analysis of the company's vulnerability to certain exposures or strategic decision-making.

 

Profile

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Actuarial Science, Economics, Mathematics, Physics or Engineering;
  • At least 5 years of experience in the actuarial/risk management field in the insurance and financial markets;
  • Excellent knowledge of financial instruments (bonds of various kinds, shares, real estate, investment funds, mortgages, private equity, etc.);
  • A sound knowledge of Solvency II and a willingness to learn about the continuous evolution of regulatory aspects (IFRS, ESG, Insurance Law, etc.);
  • Ability to develop a holistic and independent approach to risk management to proactively support and guide the business lines within a framework of good governance, management and risk appetite;
  • Knowledge of MS Office, VBA, etc.;
  • Management skills and team spirit;
  • Critical thinking, stress resistant and result-oriented;
  • Good oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate simply and synthetically on complex subjects to management and business;
  • Fluency (written and spoken) in a national language (Dutch or French) and knowledge of English.
