Our client, an insurance company, is looking for a Risk Underwriting Officer to support the underwriting and actuarial department.
He/she will be in charge of the following tasks:
- Participate in all Group projects incorporating an underwriting dimension and
review the deals that enter its scope regarding the existing criteria (materiality,
derogations). - Help to ensure and follow up that all deals that should be escalated in UW
central governance, prepare the Deal Referral Committees, including the
minutes and follow up of decisions, review Underwriting Guidelines and
policies. - Build the Risk Management Opinions on all the technical and underwriting
topics (pricing but also underwriting, performance reporting, governance and
product approval processes). - As a second line, follow up actively and contribute to an efficient monitoring of
the performance of our portfolio, in close links with central underwriting
(including active participation to review UW guidelines, to assist CRO for the
Deal Referral Committee). - Improve pricing methodologies (promoting GLM, segmentation approach) and
drive back testing analysis on assumptions used for pricing (frequency, average
costs, internal costs). - In general, actively participate in all Group projects presenting an underwriting
part. Point of contact and coordination between the entities of the group’s
Underwriting’s functions, and all underwriters and sales direction from local and
regional organization.
Profile
- Higher education in economic, mathematics, actuary or equivalent and at least 2 years’ experience in
P&C insurance or a similar position (assistance would be a plus). - English essential (read, written, spoken); Knowledge of French is a plus.
- Master the office tools and in particular Excel and Access, knowledge of R language/software or Python
is a plus. - Able to work with a team, good communication skills, solution oriented.
- Have good ability to adapt, independent spirit, curious, open mind and comfortable in a multicultural
environment.
