Job Description

Our client, an insurance company is looking for an Actuarial Function Officer to strengthen the Risk Management and Compliance Department. He·she will be in charge of supporting the organization and the execution of the independent assessments that are made in the decision-making processes of the company, as defined in Solvency II.

The Actuarial Function Officer will be responsible for:

• Verifying the adequacy and compliance of BGAAP provisions.
• Verifying the calculation of SII technical provisions with respect to the methods used, the assumptions and the quality of the data.
• Validating the models used to calculate SII technical provisions and capital requirements.
• Evaluating the rates, reserving, reinsurance and viability of new/modified products.
• Assessing the profitability of existing products and reinsurance and profit sharing schemes.
• Participating in the application and development of the global risk management system.
• Improving understanding of IFRS 17 figures.
• Monitoring regulatory developments relating to BGAAP, risk management, Solvency II and sustainable development.
• Carrying out ad hoc analyses and drawing conclusions.

Profile

• Master's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Economics or equivalent.
• Several years' experience in risk management and/or pricing.
• Knowledge of insurance software is an asset.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Drawn to the variety of tasks, the field of insurance and the attention to detail.
• Good communication skills (oral and written) and able to present complex documents in a straightforward manner.
• Fluency in Dutch or French and a good knowledge of the second national language.
