Job Description

Our client, an international insurance company, is looking for a Underwriting & Pricing Manager to support the Insurance Underwriting department.
He/she will be in charge of the following tasks :
  • Provide strategic oversight of risk assessment and pricing decisions across life, disability, critical illness and accident portfolios.
  • Ensure adherence to underwriting authority limits, and approve cases escalated cases
  • Lead the development, refinement and governance of pricing assumptions, technical bases and rating tools for all lines of risk.
  • Update underlying pricing methodologies to ensure competitiveness and alignment with portfolio objectives
  • Execute the Portfolio Management Strategy for selected clients and monitor portfolio developments, identifying trends and opportunities for improvements
  • Support the negotiations with brokers and key clients together with sales team, providing technical direction, with consistent communication of underwriting rationale
  • Ensure underwriting processes, pricing tools, documentation and decision-making frameworks meet regulatory requirements & standards
  • Work with Medical Underwriting, Claims, Finance, Actuarial and Product teams to ensure alignment on technical positions, pricing adequacy, and product evolution
  • Oversee accuracy and consistency on policy terms in term of renewals and endorsements. Ensure underwriting decisions are appropriately reflected in final documentation
  • Steer strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing underwriting capabilities, pricing sophistication, data utilisation and operational efficiency
 

Profil

  • +7 years of experience in Insurance, specifically in pricing & underwriting functions
  • Solid experience in group insurance (especially life, disability, critical illness, accident) is mandatory
  • Master’s degree (preference) in Insurance, Actuarial Science, Economics, or related fields
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements
  • Strong analytical and risk assessment capabilities
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, customer-focused but team oriented, curious, proactive and resilient
  • English fluent and any other language would be considered an asset
