Job Description
Our client, an insurance company, is looking for an Experienced Life Actuary to support the Risk department.
He/she will be in charge of the following tasks :
- Monitoring and analysing the technical bases of the various risks;
- Reinsurance treaty monitoring: calculation and monitoring of reinsurance premiums and claims and monitoring of the relationship with the reinsurer.
- Monitoring and calculating statutory & IFRS reserves (mathematical reserves + claims reserves) + assessing the adequacy of existing provisioning methods and proposing any necessary adjustments.
- Analysing and monitoring production and claims experience using statistical tools (Python/R) and automating reports/dashboards via PowerBI, etc.
- Preparing and reporting the technical result for the quarterly/annual closings.
- Drawing up actuarial studies relating to claims experience, Boni-Mali, adequacy of loading and correspondence between provisions and expected liabilities.
- Participating in drawing up the budget and profit study.
- Communication and collaboration with other departments (Pricing, Solvency II, IFRS17, etc.).
- Setting up an underwriting risk dashboard to communicate clearly and effectively with other departments.
- Implementing/adapting the tools needed to monitor risk and estimate cash-flow and commitments.
- In-depth data analysis and process automation.
Profil
- Master’s degree in actuarial science, Statistics, Mathematics
- 2 to 3 years' experience in insurance is a plus,
- Very good knowledge of databases, and ability to code in Python, VBA(VB), R
- Good knowledge of English, French and/or Dutch
- Knowledge of IT tools such as Microsoft Excel, Acces, ....
- Excellent analytical thinking skills, a keen and critical eye for figures and the ability to make judgements
- Good organisational skills, ability to meet deadlines and stress resistance
