Our client, an insurance company, is looking for a Non-Life Actuarial Function Officer to join the Actuarial Function Department.
The Non-Life Actuarial Function Officer will be responsible for:
- Write opinion and actuarial reports for regulatory purposes or for the Executive and/or Administrative Committees on the following topics:
- Technical provisions (BeGAAP, Solvency II and IFRS)
- Profitability and underwriting policy
- Reinsurance planning
- New products
- Assessment and review of the accuracy of the assumptions and models
- Lead actuarial analyses and studies and make recommendations based on those, present the conclusions to the concerned departments, follow up on those recommendations
- Take part in the risk mapping and control of the company, make recommendation on risk management
- Liaising with the concerned departments within the company, monitor and analyse the new risks (cyber, climate change, new mobility pandemic…) and new techniques (AI, ML…) and their impact on the insurance portfolio
- Monitor any activity linked to IFRS17 in order to be able to assess the technical provisions in the IFRS17 balance sheet
Profile
- Master’s degree in Actuarial Sciences or on a quantitative field or similar
- A previous professional experience in Non-Life insurance
- Good knowledge of the basic IT tools and an affinity with programming languages.
- Eye for detail and critical thinking
- Analytical mind allowing to draw conclusions and recommendation from figures and analyses
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
- Fluent in one of the national languages (Dutch or French) and English
