Position

Our client, an insurance company is looking for a Risk Manager to strengthen the Risk Department. He/she will be in charge of Solvency II, Life Risk management, Setting New Legislation and Emerging Risks. The Risk Manager will be responsible for :

Support and monitor the business in strategic Life decisions, including product approval, pricing, underwriting, booking & profitability studies.

• Participate in various product & pricing steering meetings.

• Contributing to reports and benchmarks for management, providing an overview of the level of Life risks incurred and ensuring that they are in line with the company's risk appetite.

• Capital management: develop stress scenarios to help understand the risks incurred in Life.

• Risk management system: review risk appetite, Life risk indicators & reporting, identify risks, review Solvency II and internal control processes.

• Analysing the adequacy of reserving, developing the methodology, calibration and calculations of Risk Adjustment under IFRS 17.

• Contribute to ORSA (Own Risk & Solvency Assessment) by working with other departments to draft Life risk analyses.

Requirements

At least 3 years' experience in Life product management or in risk management/auditing in connection with the non-life insurance business.

• A master’s degree in economics, management engineering or actuarial sciences, mathematics, physics or engineering.

• An overall knowledge of the Life insurance business and the various stages in the product life cycle (creation, pricing, underwriting, reserving, profitability).

• General knowledge and understanding of actuarial, insurance and risk management techniques.

Knowledge of tools such as MS Office, VBA, etc. Knowledge of IBNRS is an asset.

• Ability to communicate clearly on complex subjects to management and business.

• Fluency (written and spoken) in a national language (Dutch or French) and knowledge of English.

• Team player, analytical, also autonomous & critical.
